What is Agile, and what are the 12 key principles of it? If those are questions that you are desperate to know the answers to, you are in luck, as today we will be covering it all. Here at Initforthe, we adhere all our work strictly to the Agile Manifesto and its 12 key principles. In this article today, we are going to explore each of the 12 principles and give a little insight into how it helps benefit your business. Without further ado, let’s get straight into it.

What Is the Agile Manifesto?

The Agile Manifesto is all about uncovering better ways of developing software. It consists of 12 key principles and 4 values, which, when applied, transform the way software development operates, benefiting both us and our customers.

Principle 1: Customer Satisfaction

Here at Initforthe, our number one priority will always be the satisfaction of our customers. We do this through early and continuous delivery of valuable software. When our customers are happy, we are happy, knowing that they are able to deliver 5-star services to their own customers.

Principle 2: Always Welcome in Changing Requirements

Even if it is late in the development process, we always welcome any changes. This way, our customers can always stay ahead of the competition.

Principle 3: Frequent Delivery

We deliver working software frequently so that our customers can get feedback and adjust to the ever-changing requirements.

Principle 4: Teamwork

Business people and developers must all work together in order to produce some amazing work.

Principle 5: Support Team Members

We give team members support so they can work effectively.

Principle 6: Face-to-Face Communication

The most beneficial form of communication is face-to-face.

Principle 7: Measure Work Progress

Working software is the primary measure of progress.

Principle 8: Development Progress

We are all about sustainable development.

Principle 9: Attention to Design

A good design is key.

Principle 10: Simplicity

Simplicity is what works best.

Principle 11: Organised Teams

A well-organised team results in a well-run business.

Principle 12: Reflect

Constant reflections are vital to see where improvements are needed.

If you have any questions regarding Agile or Business Process Management, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the team here at Initforthe today.

You Don’t Have an AI Strategy. You Have a Dependency

Many businesses are moving quickly with AI, but speed can hide fragility. When a workflow quietly becomes dependent on one model, one provider, and one set of behaviours nobody controls, useful experimentation can turn into operational risk.

In this post, we explore why AI strategy is not about picking today’s best model, but building the architecture, context, and control to adapt when models change.

You bought Lean Six Sigma and it didn’t change a thing

If Lean Six Sigma did not materially change how work flows through your organisation, that was not bad luck. It was a choice. This article argues why optimisation is the wrong response to a broken operating model, and why redesign is now a matter of survival, not preference.
